The virtual reconstruction of the "Villa of Papyri in Herculaneum" with Raffaele Schiavullo, Art and Technical
Director of the
production,
will
be shown at 3D Studio Max London Event on wednesday 2nd July at 7pm.
The project has been, for 7 months, the main attraction at the exhibition "La Villa de los Papiros" at the museum"Casa del Lector" in
Madrid,
with two movies in 3K resolution.
The speech will illustrate all the process from the relief of the ruins recovered
from the Vesuvio's magma eruption in the 69BC , to the laser
scanning of the original statues from the Villa, that are exposed as permanent
exhibition at the National Archaeological Museum of
Naples, finally leading to the making of the 3D models of the monument, produced with
3D Studio Max.
During the event there will be a focus about "Virtual Archaeology" for cultural heritage, to show how to coherently rebuild an
ancient
ruin,
without leaving to the imagination its volumes and decorations, but with a philological and archival research as guide line; a
short
overview
of these concepts will be made with the projection of video clips from other 3D stereoscopic and interactive projects
developed
by
the author
about other ancient buildings in Pompeii, as the "Villa of Mysteries" and "the House of Faunus".
